ISIDEO is inspired by people and organizations engaged in promoting better futures. Here’s a few of our notables:

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory
NRELThe National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is the only US Department of Energy (DOE) laboratory devoted solely to the advancement, facilitation, and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy. From breakthroughs in fundamental science to new clean technologies to integrated energy systems that power our lives, NREL researchers are transforming the way the nation and the world use energy.

Architecture 2030 arch2030
Architecture 2030, a non-profit, non-partisan and independent organization, was established in response to the climate change crisis by architect Edward Mazria in 2002. 2030’s mission is to rapidly transform the built environment from the major contributor of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to a central part of the solution to the climate and energy crises. is a program of the Post Carbon Institute (PCI). From 2004 to 2012 the site was known as “Energy Bulletin.” Over the years Energy Bulletin broadened its coverage from peak oil and energy to include other resource depletion, related issues, and articles which describe, encourage or educate on meaningful responses — in essence, the task of building resilience. From this came the inspiration to create, which combines the best of the Energy Bulletin with the addition of sections for Groups engaged in building resilience, and Resources — a combination of user-generated and Post Carbon Institute media and reports

International Living Future Institute
LFI-logoThe International Living Future Institute is a hub for visionary programs. We administer the Living Building Challenge, the built environment’s most rigorous and ambitious performance standard. The Institute offers green building and infrastructure solutions that move across scales (from single room renovations to neighborhoods or whole cities). We offer global strategies for lasting sustainability, partnering with local communities to create grounded and relevant solutions, and reaching out to individuals to unleash their imagination and innovation.
